A Childhood Steeped in Creativity
Growing up in Georgia, Annastasia’s first brush with the spotlight came through her mother, a model. When she was invited to appear in a commercial alongside her mother as a child, although unknown to her at the time, it ignited something within her—a fascination. This grew into the love of storytelling through beauty with a purpose. “From a pretty young age,” she recalls,
“I saw how art, fashion, and emotion could come together to say something powerful.”
By high school, Annastasia was performing in musicals and plays, drawn to costumes and stage aesthetics as much as singing and performing, itself. That passion carried her through college, where she majored in Art Education & Psychology, designed theatrical costumes, assisted art teachers, and even interned as an art teacher at a celebrated art gallery/museum by age 20.
Her journey evolved from the child of a model getting cast to pageant novice to makeup artist to independent cosmetic business owner to global empowerment studio founder to working, international model -each stage shaping her identity as a woman who grew to see beauty not as vanity, but as an act of creation and a blessing.
Faith, Strength, and a Defining Accident
Behind Annastasia’s crown lies a story of perseverance. Three years ago, a hoverboard accident nearly took everything from her. “It was an ordinary day with my youngest child,” she recalls. “Then, in a second, everything changed.”
Her head struck the ground, leaving her with a minor brain injury and severe dental trauma. She lost her top teeth and couldn’t drive for over a year. “It was devastating,” she admits. “There were days I didn’t want to look in the mirror. But I refused to stay broken.”
Through faith, family, one very good human in particular, who knows his worth & that she feels was put in her life’s path for a very divine reason and relentless determination, she rebuilt her life physically, emotionally, and spiritually. “That accident became my teacher,” she says. “It stripped away everything superficial and taught me what real strength and beauty look like.”
From that journey of healing came a transformation so profound it led her to the global stage. “Standing there as the new Ms. Universe®️ wasn’t just about winning a title,” she says softly. “It was about reclaiming my smile—inside and out and hoping to share love & kindness through that reclaiming with as many as our creator will put in my path.”
Redefining Success and Empowerment
As a leader, Annastasia measures success differently now.
“When we’re young, we think success means money, beauty, fame,” she says. “But now I know success is peace-living a faith-filled life with love, purpose, and gratitude.” Her platform, Positively You™, embodies that philosophy and became her livelyhood .
What began as a dream and hope for becoming a nonprofit for domestic violence awareness has blossomed into an emerging, global empowerment brand helping women rediscover self-worth through beauty, education, tolerance, acceptance, spirituality, health and wellness and personal transformation.
Through Positively You™️, she offers makeovers, transformation coaching and so much more. She has created a signature healing course called Beauty From Ashes©️, which helps individuals turn pain into power.
“My mission is to help every woman who’s ever felt ‘not enough’ stand tall and say-‘Not today, Satan!,'” she laughs.
The Crown as a Calling
Approximately six months or so after receiving the iconic title of Ms. Universe®️, Annastasia decided to serve as the Executive Director of Universe International®, under this umbrella overseeing multiple pageants including Mrs. Universe®️, Ms. Universe®️, and Miss Teen Universe®️as well as all Universe International®️awarded titles, both national and international.
“It’s about more than crowns and sashes,” she says. “It’s about using this incredible platform to remind women that beauty and purpose can coexist-that faith and fierceness can live in the same heart.”
Under her leadership, the organization is undergoing a complete rebrand -modernizing visuals, revamping social media, and expanding opportunities for women in fashion, modeling, and advocacy worldwide.
Looking Ahead: Empowerment Without Borders-Beauty is Universal™️
Next on the horizon for Annastasia is an international empowerment retreat in Italy, designed for visionary men and women seeking to heal, connect, and transform. She’s also launching collaborations with global fashion designers and a new cosmetics partnership debuting at upcoming global fashion weeks.
“My dream is to see every woman wear her crown-not because of a title, but because she knows who she is,” she says. “That’s what Ms. Universe®️ is really about: honoring the divinity within us all.”
A Legacy of Light
